The recipe for this nearly extinct beer style was based loosely on a recipe from world renowned homebrewer and clipboard aficionado, Jason Colby. Thanks Colby! OK, I guess it wasn't "based on" his recipe, maybe "stolen directly from" might be a better way to describe it. Either way, this is a beer made for enjoying in quantity. It checks in at a whopping 3.5% ABV. It has a deep copper color, with flavors of chocolate, toffee and molasses. With only enough hops to balance out the sweetness, this beer is the ultimate session beer. Enjoy one for breakfast.
