We wanted something that was both hoppy and chocolaty. So, rather than doing what most breweries do when they design a Black IPA and just making our IPA dark, we did the opposite. We took a stout grist bill and added a pantry clearing amount of hops to the wort. Couple that with a 120 minute boil time and this is what you get. A chocolate / coffee aroma and flavor with a bitter hoppy finish. This beer will remind you of eating a piece of dark chocolate.
