Friek 6.9%, Odell Brewing Company, United States
2 ratings
Friek
6.9% Sour / Wild Ale
Created by combining framboises (raspberries) with kriek lambic style ales. We took ales fermented with wild yeast and tart cherries and moved them into oak barrels to age and sour—taking on the cherry flavors. Then, immediately prior to the final blending, our brewers throw in fresh raspberries making for sweet and tart flavors that mingle on the tongue with a sparkling dry finish.

Very fizzy with great cherry tart to it but leaves a very raspberry after taste. Raspberry over takes the aroma of the beer. All in all a decent beer

There is a debate about this one. A Lambic style beer fermented with wild yeast. Aged in oak barrels and smashed full of cherries. Sour-sharp and packed full of red fruit. It's got that Odell thing going on - Colorado Magic. Strong flavours work through the hops. Good though. Looks like it's just me from this point on.....
