Definitely more porter than ruby, it’s a likeable beer. There’s a restrained malty and nutty flavour that gives way to a slightly sweet aftertaste.

Bateman describe this as a ‘Dark Ruby Beer’ but it has the taste and colour of a good dark (dunkel) beer. Clean taste that tempt the taste buds with a thrilling, lingering caramel tang. Good strength for this type of beer at 5%.

Bought this from my local coop after being told by Batemans brewery that it’s the bottled version of their Salem Porter.. it’s Definitely not though 😩 Not too bad for a dark ruby but definitely won’t be buying it again...
