Calypso hops are a dual purpose hop that was originally bred from the Nugget hop varietal. These large, square-ish hops have an alpha acid content of approximately 12% – 14%. Prized for their fruity character, we at HBC are excited to bring this hop to our single hop series. Calypso has a resinous hop bitterness that lasts well into the finish. It has a fruity and earthy hop character that has hints of pear, melon, with a light spicy finish.
