Polaris is the most recent addition to our ever growing line of single hop IPAs. This hop varietal is grown in Hull, Germany and was released to the public in 2012. Polaris is a beast of a hop with an alpha acid content that ranges from 18% – 23%! Despite its high alpha acid content, the hop grower suggests using this hop varietal for its aromatic properties. Polaris is an interesting IPA. Its aroma is very earthy and has strong garlic / chive / onion qualities that are carried over into its flavor. The finish also has robust resinous character as well.
