As the Austro-Hungarian empire crumbled, brewers began an exodus to the new world. In places like Texas and Mexico, they tried to brew the Vienna and Oktoberfest styles they knew, but found the alkaline water required a darker, more acidic blend of grains. A new style of beer was born. Our Dark amber version of this beer is very malty in the tradition of Oktoberfest, with hints of dried fruit and a crisp, hoppy finish.
