Organic Porter
6.0% Porter
Porter is a dark 18th century ale that originated in foggy London town and is descended from brown beer. The name "Porter" was the result of this beer style being a favorite among street and river porters at that time. Those hardy workers loved a strong, dark, robust ale which had a full body and crisp finish which was just the thing to give them a boost after a long day's work. We believe that the porters of yesteryear would love our porter beer just as much as the drinkers of today do. Butte Creek Organic Porter is brewed with organic Pale. Wheat, Caramel-120, and Chocolate malts along with Organic New Zealand Pacific Gem, Cascade, and Wakatu hops to produce the finest beer possible. Butte Creek Organic Porter pours into the pint dark brown, almost black in color. Porters are honest ales, they taste like they look - Rich, dark and chocolaty, with not so subtle undertones of caramel and coffee. But unlike its dour dusky look, it flows through the mouth with a velvety smooth texture, and finishes with just a hint of hop crispness derived from traditional aroma hops. This is a powerful porter that can be enjoyed with bangers and mash, a hearty meal or even paired with a fine desert. 6.0% ABV, OG 14.5, IBU 18.
