Beer #900!!! 2017 vintage.
Bourbon in the aroma. Some oak and vanilla from the barrel aging. Slight smokiness as well. Taste has a huge bourbon to it. Dark fruits follow. Vanilla and some oak follow. I've never had a bourbon barrel aged lager before, so this is pretty interesting to me. Doesn't really drink like a lager. Has an incredibly thick and full body, almost syrupy, with an appropriately lower carbonation for something barrel aged. Probably one of the thickest bodies in a beer that I've ever experienced. A bit sweet, and bit boozy, but ultimately pretty damn tasty. The 14.5% drinks smooth and boozy at the same time. I like this. Not a go-to, but a nice treat from time to time. I think I'll grab a 4-pack of this. 4.5/5
