This Black stronger than average mild delivers toffee and roasted barley aromas, leading to a strong malty flavour, with hints of chocolate and liquorice, plus a smoky finish with a subtle bitterness.

Malty Mild Ale with hints of chocolate. Very average ale in a very poor selection of ales on offer in my local Spoons.

This beer has got a bit of everything that I like in a beer without actually delivering any of it in a way I like.
This dark ruby red beer is heavy on the malt taste and aroma but tended to be on the burnt side of roasted malts. Coupled with the bitterness this made for an overly bitter beer in my opinion.
Hints of dark fruits and chocolate.
