A unique blend of barrel-aged beers (2 / 3 barrel-aged tart / wild malty brown ale with cherries, 1 / 3 barrel-aged Cocoa Loco), designed as an homage to the sweet / sour "oud bruin" brown ales of West Flanders, Belgium. Deceptively smooth and rich, this dark chestnut-colored ale has notes of milk chocolate and pralines, offset by a hint of tartness from cherries and the wild Brettanomyces yeast used in the barrels. The base beers spent a combined 3.5 years in second-use oak Bourbon barrels, which lends a calming softness to the flavor and aroma. This extended time leaves barely a hint of oak flavor, beyond the subtle structure and deft balance that compliments each base beer, to equal a fine ale that is greater than the sum of it's parts. Very limited quantities, this beer might not ever exist again!
