Cannonball Gold is a bright, refreshing end to summer; a herald of the harvest season and all the good things that come with transitions. Snappy, biscuity malt with a crackery-bready note, there are hints of summer's brilliantly crisp quaffs, but the carpet-bombing of freshly harvested "wet" hops bring bitterness and tons of grassy, herbal hop aromatics. As the sip lingers, things get tangled in transition, with notes of red apple, overripe watermelon rind, and powerful candied grapefruit. Is it a summer beer, or a fall beer?
