Tonight at The Sally was a winner. I won the meat raffle and a bloke turned up and started banging out tunes on the piano which led to a big sing song. I drank too many great beers to review at the time. Having returned home I'm cooking spiced red cabbage with breaded lamb thanks to Rick Stein. This blueberry wild ale is excellent. It's red-gold, sharp and hoppy with bag loads of fruit, but not overpowered by the berries. There are some mild spices in the mix, and it could have been overblown - but this is an excellent example of restraint and it's lovely. Top stuff from Northern Monk again.

Another Norther Monk / Ale Farm Patrons collaboration. This is the least impressive I've had from the series so far. It's not a bad beer by any stretch, it's fruity and hides the alcohol well it juts doesn't pack a great deal of flavour in. It's like light fruity pop. I don't get the blueberries either, tastes more like cherry followed by other dark fruits. Not a great deal of yeast apparent either which I had thought there may be with the wild ale label. The artwork on the can is brilliant though as usual!

The colour on this beer is fantastic! Sours/ wild ales aren't really my thing but I can enjoy this one, it's not overpowering. Lots of berries.Medium carbonation. Doesn't taste like it's 8.2 %......The whole patrons project as been the epitome of wanky craft beers. The can art on all of them has been awesome, love the peel back label with all the info, theres been lots of class breweries involved, but for me the actual beers have been a bit of let down. Maybe my expectations were too high??
