The old philosophical adage "simple, complex, simple" definitely applies to this Double IPA. Starting with a simple malt bill of 2-Row Pale Malt and Victory Malt, this beer then dives into the complex with a generous layering of hops. Bittered with Columbus hops followed up by Cascade and Chinook, then finished with an ample amount of Simcoe in the whirlpool and a massive dry hop of Simcoe, Columbus, and Chinook, the 3 Mermaids IIPA is nuanced with tastes of pine, fruit and earthy qualities. It is easy drinking, but beware….at 9.6% ABV simply put: the 3 Mermaids IIPA can lull you with its song and drag you into the deep!
