So I bought a couple I already had. So I figured I’d re-review them. It is close to last time. I’m getting a burnt/char malt taste. I’m also getting a little bit of a boozy taste this time. Surprising since it is only 7%. That is all there really is to this one. If it had a little more to it this could be a lot better

Time for another side by side review, this time between 2017 and 2018. Let's see if the year in the cellar changed this beer... 2017 (1-6-17): Roasted malts and the oats used are in the aroma. Taste has roasted malts, almost to the point of being slightly charred or burnt, some hop bitterness and a very smooth body from the oats. Almost comes off a bit smoky. Medium body. 2018 (10-22-18): Same aroma as the 2017, just a bit more potent and in your face. Taste has roasted malts and an incredible smoothness from the oats. A bit more creamy than the aged 2017 version. Medium + body. Overall, this beer is better fresh vs. aged. Still good aged, but it's starting to get a bit rough around the edges at the year mark. I'm on the fence about continuing to age the other bottle I have in the cellar. Maybe I will still, just to see what happens. A very good adjunct-free (besides the oats) oatmeal stout. 4/5
