It's no secret that I love a well done pilsner. However when labeled "premium pilsner" I can't help but be a little cautious. That's what all the big breweries like to call their beer and it isn't always deserved. As the transfer from can to glass begins, a crisp beautiful gold shimmers and effervesces. A good sign. It tries to build a good foam but fails. The aroma leaves the senses straining to get a proper sample and come up underwhelmed. It's not unpleasnet but very mild. I get a nice pale malt with cracker and just enough hops. Ever so slightly earthy and a wee bit of spiciness like that of saaz hops. It is crisp and light with tingle from the carbonation. Not as good as I would like but not bad. I've had many far worse pilsners. Flavours are mild but I'm picking up cracker, bread crust, and popcorn. The hops are earthy and little spicy with a tiny bit of a floral note. I'd put this right in the middle of my list of pilsners.
