This is a hybrid beer. A strong ale yes, but Belgian in style definitely! There’s no getting away from the fact it’s all English in style except for the yeast. I’m not keen on receiving something that isn’t what it says it is and this one flirts with styles worse than a Mombasa whore flirts with visiting sailors 👀. We don’t have triple style English ales, yet Belgium has the tripel! Why can’t the label just state that it’s a tripel or state that a Belgian strain of yeast was used?! All in all it’s a good beer, it’s quite smooth but you can’t get away from the fruity esters.
