Nelson
5.0% Golden Ale / Blond Ale
In May 2010, one of the Baladin historical beers - Blonde - is suddenly replaced by a new entry: Nelson. Nelson is also a light-colored ale and has the same alcohol content (5% abv). What’s the difference, then?Teo, in one of his many creative moments, had decided to experiment with a new type of hops from NewZealand, called Nelson Sauvin. The result was a much more richly scented blonde ale than Blonde. In a way, it anticipated the trend that would soon explode of using very aromatic hops, with a more prominent bitter character. In order to promote the new draft-only beer at the pub in Piozzo, Teo decided to install a new tap, inspired by an old instrument found on sailing ships - the telegraph - which, ironically, the manufactured had called Colonna Ammiraglio Nelson.
