This is great. Rich, malty black IPA. Slides down as a lovely smoky treat.

I’ve always been a big fan of PURITY and get excited when I’m about to try a beer from them I’ve never had. This time around... Saddle Black, dedicated to cyclists I might add. The beer pours close to pure black in the glass. I’d probably say it’s more of a dark red/cough medicine type of colour. Being a black IPA, the aroma has some dark chocolate, some citrus, some toffee and maybe some coffee. When you first sip this one finger white headed beer you get the citrus and the dark chocolate first of all. Then maybe the toffee and some liquorice on the back end. The bitterness is definitely there in abundance. I definitely like the beer, it’s not something I could drink all the time but a nice, refreshing change. A decent beer from Purity, not in my top 3 from them by any means. Worth a try though for sure.

A sweet little number and rather tasty. As Black IPA's go its ok but not a patch on the Sinner.

Hoppy and certainly dark, quite strong in taste as with all dark ale. Pretty good!
