Cask; pours a deep clear brown, soft of white to tan head; on the nose clean, malt forward, earthy and spicy, notes of burned toast and perhaps coffee; in the mouth smooth and clean, fruity with hints of fig roll and bread crust; medium bodied, short finish, lingering fruity aftertaste

Lots of roasted malts give a balanced rich coffee flavour with hints of toffee. The lacing persisted down the glass and the finish was more chocolatey than the starting coffee and chocolate. A nice 🍺.

Very dark red ale, creamy and mild, slight hoppy bitterness of an IPA but also quite sweet and malty. Pleasantly surprised, hopefully on for a few days!

Can't be an IPA with malt in it. It is very light though for a dark malty beer. Strange but at this stage of the day, more than drinkable. May need two or three to make a more informed decision 🥂
