Pilsner was first brewed in 1842.  The most famous of pilsners originated in the town of Pilsen in Bohemia.  South Shore's Czech Pils been brewed with the original pilsners in mind with an emphasis on bold malt character, a distinct "Czech" yeast profile, and the use of Sterling hops throughout the boil.
