Šnekutis. This place should have some traditional 🇱🇹 beers. "Jovarų Šnekutis" is one. It's a Farmhouse Ale – style called "Kaimiškas" – that is specifically brewed for this place only and stays good for 72 hours. It's a real ale, a living product. Belongs to the same family as Sahti. So, let's go for it!
Limpid, deep copper. A long-standing carbonation keeps producing tiny bubbles that emanate from the bottom to the surface. A clean white moussy head grows two fingers tall and decorates the top for a long time albeit thinner.
Hefty fermented banana in the scent. Rye porridge, bread and wort can also be detected in the fragrance.
The malty side takes the lead on the tongue. Rye, for sure. A powerful grainy punch. Also rye porridge. Grass, pine and much less fermented banana than in the air. Slightly herbal actually, could it be juniper? It doesn't really taste like it though.
The body feels medium to medium-full. The end is sharper, grainy, piney and herbal. Fairly long duration.
The mouthfeel is medium-full, strong, slightly sharp, earthy and rustic. Flavorful. Probably my first ever Kaimiškas. Lovely! 🧡🤎
