Hop bitterness and grapefruit in the aroma. Some malty sweetness as well. Taste has a nice sharp, intense bitterness. Definitely a hop forward IPA. Beyond that, there is a sweetness from the malts to help balance the bitterness some. I wanna say I'm getting some grapefruit as well, but it is dominated by the bitterness. There's definitely some grapefruit along with some oranges. Very piney. I'm not very well versed in the west coast IPA category, but from what I've heard about them, it's spot on. For the style, I'd say this is a 4.25/5. For my personal preference, maybe around a 3.5. I won't knock it much for that though. Definitely worth trying if you're into super hoppy beers. 4/5

I have to say I love Bell's but this is far from their best. At first & what totally surprised me was the alcohol taste & burn I got on the very first sip. Every sip afterwards just was kind of ruined by that I do pick up some grapefruit & pine but in the background of the alcohol. I'm wondering if I got a bad one. Just a guess but yuck with this bottle
