Scandinavian Clouds is brewed in Denmark through a close collaboration between Mikkeller & SAS, which began in 2016 when founder Mikkel Borg Bjergsø tested how altitude affects flavor. He found bitterness sharpens at 10,000 meters, so the beer needed to be softer, rounder, and more aromatic for in-flight enjoyment. Over the past decade, Mikkeller & SAS have created 15+ unique beers for the skies, from spontaneously fermented beetroot ales to crisp lagers and IPAs.
