This Guinness is brewed in Australia under license by Lion, with production in South Australia. While Guinness claims the Australian version is brewed to be identical to the original, using Irish wort extract, many drinkers report a difference in taste, often finding it watery, acidic, and bitter compared to the Irish-brewed product.

This Guinness in 470ml cans is a locally brewed version of the REAL Guinness that is brewed at St James Gate in Dublin Ireland. It is said that the local drop, which is brewed in South Australia is as good as the Irish brew, but that is very debatable. Many Aussies who love Guinness refuse to drink the locally brewed stuff. If you can find Guinness in 440ml cans in Australia then it is the Dublin brewed original.
