This nightcap is not dark. It's gold. It's even pale gold. And fairly cloudy. The carbonation behaves well and kicks out a pure white, velvety head that crawls one finger high and shrinks quickly to a thin lace ring. A relatively predictable olfactory arc bends in the air: biscuit, waffle, sweet malt, a drop of inverted syrup and orange peel. I like the set. The gustatory profile carries on what the fragrance started but lifting simultaneously the citrusy elements higher. Orange peel and canned mandarin step determinedly forward. The malty segment is medium-sweet, biscuity, a tad cerealy. Inverted syrup is distant when it merges with grassy and faintly resinous hops. Alcohol is basically hidden but gives a hair-thin signal of its presence with a modest warming sensation. The body is light-medium. Somewhat skinny for the ABV and style. The finish doesn't bring in anything new but elevates the bitterness marginally higher. The mouthfeel is light-medium as already indicated. It's also slightly tangy, soft, smooth, Belgiany and moderately lip-glueing. And leaves a warming sensation for a second. Pleasant, overall.
