Una IPA scura con un fantastico bouquet floreale che si incontra con una tostatura importante dei malti

Alright for what it is but I'm not particularly keen on malty beers.

Black IPA is a beerstyle that I haven't tasted in a long time. Now I can correct that situation. The beer portrays a muddy, very deep dark brown hue. Lush carbonation releases a fawn, velvety head that grows three fingers tall. Long retention keeps the foamy layer alive as it wafts as a billowy lacing on the top. Deep roasted malt, very dark chocolate and a suggestion of burned wood emanate to the nostrils. The hoppy component is moderate but recognizable. The taste gives clear elements of IPA with a roasted touch. Strong piney hops, deep roasted malt, raw cacao powder and grapefruit peel constitute the gustatory profile. Nicely characterful. The body is light-medium. The finish is almost identical to the actual taste, only the hoppy touch is slightly harsher in the end. Dry grass is unbeatable there. Hop burn gives an additional kick to the tastebuds. The aftertaste burns its fingers and the pain lasts for a long time. The mouthfeel is somewhat light, roasty, even burned, crisp and drying. Rather straightforward but clean and balanced. I'm glad I had this.

Todella paahteinen ja kuiva. Vähän löytyy myös havua ja tuoksussa katkeroa. Jälkimaussa aavistus tummaa suklaata. Vähän persoonaton. Haastava olut.

Samettinen 3 sormen paksuinen beige vaahto tumman ruskeassa, täyttävässä ja kuivaavassa oluessa. Valahtaa kuin vanha moottori öljy lasiin, hyvä kuivahko humalointi ja stouttimaisia piirteitä sopiva paahto maltaissa. Hedelmäinen ja paahteinen leivän kuori.

Nyt on vähän outo tapaus kyseessä. Lasiin kaatuu samea ja ruma, tummaruskea juoma ilman vaahtoa. Pulloon jää reilusti hiivaa. Makujen sekasotkusta löytyy kitkerää yrttisyyttä ja havua. Hento maltaisuus peittyy sitruksiseen puraisuun. Jälkimakuna suuhun jää lähinnä kummallisen kitkeryyden aiheuttama irvistys.
