Opaque black beer. A cute dense moussy head grows one finger tall and descends to a neat lace ring. The withdrawing foam paints the glass with a thick lacing. The fragrance offers burned malt, raw licorice root and a bit of wood ash. The tongue receives burned malt, licorice, also raw licorice root, a woody hint and a twist of rye flour. The sensation is light, roasty and burned but also soft, smooth as well as lip-glueing. A difficult style but a tasty sample of it.
