A Finnish Pumpkin Ale is such a rarity that I simply couldn't resist the temptation of having one.
The beer looks beautiful: lucid chestnut brown. A faintly orangish creamy lacing emerges on the surface and withdraws obediently to the sides. Still looks seductive.
The nose receives pumpkin jam, caramel malt, toffee, cinnamon and a nutty twist. Pumpkin is surprisingly nice here, not too overwhelming but not impotent either.
The taste puts forward the familiar pumpkin jam, caramel malt, cinnamon and toffee but also a bit of orange peel but not nut. The hoppy sphere isn't particularly introverted here, creating a somewhat Red-Ale-imitating impression. Grass, first and foremost, maybe also some resin can additionally be detected as individual subcomponents of the hops.
The body is medium to medium-full. The tail is shorter than I anticipated but gives a reasonable load of pumpkin jam, caramel malt and orange peel.
The mouthfeel is medium-full, relatively soft, smooth, remotely spiced and a bit crisp. It's also slightly dry and more drying. All in all, balanced and neatly autumnal.

Maistuu syksyltä. Mausteinen ja roteva olut.
