Blondie Demons, Netherlands
3.5
Gosh, this is the 20th day in a row with 30°C or more somewhere in Finland. Not sure if I enjoy this. 🥵🌞 Anyway, it's a well justified excuse to crack a beer open. This Blonde is fairly dark, something like copper in color. And relatively hazy. The carbonation is posh, mainly because I dropped the can a while ago. The head looks off-white and airy when it shoots five fingers high. Fortunately, the foamy storm settles fast to a generous lace ring and a moldy haze on the top. The nose observes medium-sweet malt, bags of biscuit, waffle, inverted syrup and a wisp of clove. A typical Belgian Blonde. Well, this is Dutch but anyway. Stylewise. The tongue picks malt that is not actually sweet anymore. The other components include biscuit, waffle, clove, faint whitepepper and a much smaller pour of inverted syrup than in the air. The body is light-medium to medium. The finish gears marginally more bitter but the set of elements remains unchanged. The mouthfeel is medium, slightly herbal, a bit crisp, modestly drying and Belgiany.
