Things are getting really bad now. The only two 🇨🇠drinks at this venue that I still haven't tasted are a Cider and a Helles. The Helles is a macrobrewery product, available basically everywhere here, and I have deliberately avoided it no matter what.
And now that I checked my stats, this is actually my first ever Swiss cider. And indeed, I don't remember having spotted a Swiss cider anywhere, not that I have actively looked for one. So, maybe this is a rare piece then?
Let me try it. Looks brilliant straw. Sparkling. It's still sparkling after a good while. A hasty chain of bubbles on the surface, and then complete stillness.
Medium-sweet apple mash in the scent. Natural, no artificial additives. Nor sugar. But fructose, yes. Not bad in its own category.
Sips with bowls of semisweet apple juice plus mash with some peely elements to it. Malic acid is obvious. Nothing more to the taste, and it's all well as such. A really natural experience.
Feels extraordinarily juicy, natural, summery, acidic, light-dry and a tad drying. As a matter of fact, a surprisingly tasty cider from the land of cuckoo-clocks.
