At Ferus Brewing after the Birmingham Stallions 🏈 game with family. "May the Fourth Be With You" celebration is going on here tonight. So many people dressed up for the outdoor showing of Star Wars movies. Plus there's beer!!!🍺 This is the fourth beer, the one on the far right. Black in color and swirls with a very deep viscosity. Strong smell of maple and bourbon. Indeed, very thick, a sticky coating in the mouth. The flavor produces a heavy maple combined with coffee, bourbon and some oak from the year in barrel. Finish turns sweeter, if that's even possible, and the alcohol is forefront and powerful. This should be a beer I would like, but somehow it misses the mark. Not well balanced for my palate. The maple is too sweet, the bourbon alcohol a little too intense and the texture is too syrupy. This beer has good qualities. And could use a few adjustments to make it better. But for now, it's not for me.
