DRY JANUARY. This year, my Dry January will last for 22 days. Only. For an obvious reason 😉
Let me now declare my Dry January started! The beer looks almost transparent, with a distant milky hue only. The color is deep gold. Rich carbonation. A creamy head becomes swollen three fingers thick. The foamy lid dissolves quickly to a fragile haze.
Grapefruit, mango, mandarin and faint lime constitute the first wave of the fragrance. A hint of wet wool enters the scene in the second wave. The third wave is composed of biscuit malt.
The taste profile swings in a bitter citrusy direction: I'm spotting grapefruit, lemon pith, mandarin peel, grass, a generous drop of resin and bitter malt. Looks like Mosaic and Simcoe danced vigorously in the scent whereas Citra and Columbus played their tricks in the taste.
The body clocks light. But not thin. Well done for 0.5 %! The finish is identical to upfront. Bitter citruses, grass and resin.
The mouthfeel is light, pithy, peely, also zesty and a bit tangy. Plus relatively smooth as well as classical. Delivers what one may expect.
