Polly’s New Insomnia arrives like a golden, heavy-hearted moon rising over the slate roofs of Mold, a West Coast American IPA whose pale, clear liquid holds its soul in the fierce, unyielding memories of the old school. Bring the can to the dark, wide-awake night and it throws up a high, piney song of resinous Comet hops, a sharp citrus shout of grapefruit peel, and a whisper of modern, tropical berry notes from the Lupomax Mosaic dreaming underneath. The first swallow is an aggressive shock to the blood—bracingly bitter, crisp, and crackling dry—as the clean malt backbone lets the old-school oils run wild and strip the tongue like a high Pacific tide. Deceptively smooth at 5.8%, this punchy, throat-clearing roar of an IPA is a bitter, hoppy defiance in a glass, a beautifully unquiet thing brewed for those who choose to watch the hours spin and refuse to go gentle into a sleepless night.

I have to give this the full 5 stars, I love an old school West Coast IPA and this hits all the right notes for me.
Crisp clean bitterness, resinous and piney with floral and fruity notes.

It pours a hazy, golden colour with a white head. Aroma is of tropical fruits with notes of citrus. Flavour is tropical fruits with hints of grass.

Hoppy, full bodied and crisp. Pine in the aroma and flavour with a little bitterness in the end. Nice beer.
