Advent time. Christmas is approaching. Time to open the first door of my advent calendar. Self curated, of course. Door #️⃣1️⃣ offers a semifoggy amber beer. The carbonation is first obedient but the emerging head swells wildly higher, reaching four fingers. It melts fast down leaving a soft lacing on the surface. Sweet malt, biscuit and waffle in the scent. Soft floral yeast accompanies the pastry-imitating package. The gustatory experience follows the path that the fragrance had paved earlier. Sweet malt, waffle and biscuit merge with orange peel, a hint of caramel, floral yeast and a surprisingly ample alcoholic tang are the individual elements. The body is medium to medium-full. Still, it fails to control the boozy impression properly. The finish is tangy, citrusy, both sweet-leaning and bitter, as well as resinous. The mouthfeel is medium-full, moderately tangy, marginally alcoholic and effervescent. Okay. Done. Not necessarily my biggest enjoyment though.
