Deep, opaque brown color. Left the can in an almost syrupy manner. Had a quarter inch of head to start but quickly dissipated. Tiny bubbles as though it was nitro but it's not. Aroma is strong nutmeg and ginger. Begins with a heavy texture then quickly turns soft and creamy. Heavy malt that first reveals cinnamon and then chocolate. Both are pretty dominant and it's not until the middle that a gentle nutmeg and ginger combination starts to appear. A sweetness blankets all of these flavors. I'm still searching for the 11% alcohol but can't find it, even late in the finish. As it warms the ginger and nutmeg make a stronger presence but the dark chocolate is still the dominant flavor.
I read several other reviews so I'm confused why only one other person mentioned the chocolate. I found it dominant in the flavor. I really enjoy how it's heavy texture enables it to have a finish that lasts a very long time. I find this to be a very enjoyable beer, a cold day delight, my kind of dessert Stout.
