Shrove Sunday. A classical Finnish pea soup is a must today. Semiclear gold. That's the appearance. The carbonation is lively. A creamy moussy froth elevates three fingers high and decorates the surface as a thick crown for quite a while. The scent is grainy malty with additional butter cracker, a hint of biscuit and a wink of lemon zest. Nice, classical. The taste is straightforward. Classical grainy malt, for sure. A sweetish echo looms in the background. Lemon in many forms, like pulp and pith, bread, butter cracker and a pinch of grass. The body is light. Decent. The tail serves what the beer has offered all the way through. The sensation is light, zesty, classical, savory. Relatively clean and balanced, too. Does the job. P.S. The barcode gives "Alppilaakson Helles Lager". Maybe this is the same beer labeled for Wotkin's?
