Type IV Deicing Fluid
7.6% New England DIPA / Hazy Imperial IPA
Deicing season is here again and it's time to remove frost, ice and snow from the aircraft surfaces.
Type IV Deicing Fluid is usually dyed green so it's easily identifiable. Since the actual deicing fluid is not recommended to be consumed by anyone, we thought that it's our job to brew a tasty Type IV fluid that you can chug away without worrying about health concerns. In moderate amounts, of course. Cheers!

Friday. A weekend ahead. And a pretty demanding workweek is behind. Gosh.
The beer looks a bit strange... It's turbid, I can spot yeast particles sinking to the bottom and forming a solid sediment. But the color – not visible in the picture – is a hybrid of deep yellow, grassy green and a hint of gray. The yeasty slam might suggest brave carbonation but, to my surprise, it's not. The small-bubbled head even falls short of one finger and descends soon to a subtle haze like frazil ice on a freezing lake.
Not a very convincing start but the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Let's see if the olfactory ride gets me higher. I receive kiwifruit, green grape, wheat malt and loads of yeast. Unimpressive. Relatively stuffy.
The taste is stingy. And green. Grass, kiwifruit, also its hirsute peel, green grape, lemon zest and pith, wheat malt and bags of yeast. That's the package of tonight. Hop burn is evident – an unbeatable plus in my universe!
The body is light-medium to medium. Nice! The end is similar to the actual taste, with the hop burn coming and going.
The mouthfeel is medium, pithy, tangy and musty. Like raw. Somewhat crisp, slightly dry and marginally drying. I'm still far from dazzled.
P.S. The appearance is apparently what it's supposed to be since the label says that "Please notice that the actual content of this bottle is also green".
Now that I take a closer look at the pieces of the puzzle, two ingredients are E161b and E133. The first one is yellow-orange color while the latter is brilliant blue. Together they make green. A myth busted.

Vähän tunkkainen neipa. Vähän eksoottista hedelmää joukossa, mutta ei oikein saa mauista kiinni.

Makeahko Neipa. Trooppinen ja nektariininen runko. Hapokkuuttakin löytyy. Ei hassumpi.
