Schlafly Barrel Aged Oatmeal Stout
5.7% Oatmeal Stout
This classic, British-style stout is dark, smooth and slightly sweet, with just enough bitterness and hops to balance out the richness of the roasted malt’s nutty character and the creaminess of the oatmeal flakes

This is a gift from my son and we are sharing this oatmeal Stout, English style. Modest head, almost opaque. Aroma definitely has a dry roasted quality. Flavor is roasted, both the malt and the coffee. Hints of dark fruit in the background but can't distinguish any particular one. Dry cocoa powder blends perfectly. Semi-sweet in the beginning but dry from first to last. Finish elevates the roasted coffee above the beginning. Good example of an English Stout.

spent 5 years in STL and fell in love with the entire Schafly line. Always look forward to picking up a few cases when I visit. I prefer the Oatmeal stout to the Coffee stout (though coffee is still very much present in the Oatmeal, it is a bit smoother)

A nice black color with a contrasting tan foam. Decent taste mix of coffee, chocolate, and malt. Has a slight licorice undertone that I am not a fan of.
