Full bodied, spicy beer. Could easily pass as a festive brew.

Pours clear deep-amber with a light frothy two fingers head. The nose hold ripe berries, caramel, brown bread, vanilla. Medium sweet flavour with notes of buttery toffee, red berries, woody notes in there, spices and raisins. Medium bodied beer with fine to average carbonation. Highly enjoyed this one.

Can't taste much of the whiskey, but this is a rich, malty flavoursome pint. There is a little bit of heat to it, so that maybe where the whiskey comes in. Not bad at all.

Dark with a slight delicate sweet scent. Firstly, I expected this to punch, it didn’t. I expected a strong kick of whiskey, it wasn’t there. It’s light and subtle, a little sweet and a little bitter, but predominantly chocolatey. It’s like flat cola or weak hot chocolate that’s been made with water. It’s not bad but not what I was expecting. Like unwrapping your Christmas present, you asked for a Chopper, 3 gears and a banana seat for your comfort. What you got was a Grifter, it’s not bad, it’s not what you were expecting, and it’s not a Chopper. This isn’t bad, but I can’t escape the feeling that I’ve been let down. I was looking forward to a strong beer, I was expecting to taste the Whiskey (and I do like my whiskey) I was hoping that the two together would pull tight and add a new dimension to my world. I’m left feeling a little disappointed. Maybe I should have stuck to the Champion and left the Headspace well alone. I’m off to fill the whiskey shaped hole with some actual whiskey, so I feel complete again.
