Christmas Advent beer #8. I’ve had this before. Not a favorite for me but people around here love this beer. This has a cherry with light honey taste. Has a light Belgium like spice taste that is mainly clove with some very light nutmeg and cinnamon. Overall it is okay. The cherry is a little medicinal. The Belgium aspect is a little weakly done and is a little artificial tasting. The abv doesn’t help this either as it is not hidden much. I still don’t get the love this beer gets around here.

So this is a re-review. I haven’t this for 6 years so I figured I’d give it another chance. Everyone here raves about this beer. So it has a cherry with light honey taste. Has very light Belgium spices that started light but faded to a very light level. Has a strong alcohol taste. Overall it’s a little better than I remember. I just don’t get why so many people love this beer. The Belgium part tastes like a cheap Belgium style that doesn’t quite cut it.
