Brewed with the finest English malts and Fuggles hops, this beer gives a distinctive and assertive hop character, balanced with a fruity palate and a malty finish. Has a great mix of flavours ranging from toffee, caramel and biscuit malt with a nice hoppy aftertaste. Not bad for a session bitter.

A very basic bitter. Everything you'd expect, with no surprises.

Higson's Bitter Ale is now brewed by Love Lane brewing in Liverpool, close to where it was originally brewed. It uses English malts & Fuggles hops to give a fruity aroma & slightly spicy, yeasty & fruity flavour. I bought a bottle in Home Bargains @ £1.29 & was pleasantly surprised. A traditional & sessionable Bitter.

Bottle-500ml. Nice. A pretty simple uncomplicated Bitter. Not overly flavoursome but inoffensive and easy drinking. This was the first time drank and it was in January 2025.
