Translucent, very dark brown beer with a ruby reflection unlocks a clean white froth that elevates higher than three fingers. Soon a thin lacing alone adorns the top. The nose receives burned malt, charred wood, ash and licorice. Raw coffee beans and sour purple grape. Interesting. The tastebuds try to cope with burned malt, charcoal, woody elements, bitter licorice, raw coffee beans and blackberry. A medley of burned and sour flavors makes this an interesting cocktail. The body is light. The tail waves easily, not very different from upfront but still a bit smoother. The mouthfeel is light, burned, charred, a bit tart, dry and drying.

Dark reddish brown color in the glass. Good, four-finger foam that leaves a thin foam layer on the top that lasts long. Roasted oats and a hint of coffee are present in the aroma, robust and promising. Initial taste is actually quite sharp, but folds to dryish roasted oats and coffee notes quickly. Overall, dry and roasty, malts, coffee, a hint of mämmi, but without the sweetness. Some dark chockolate is present also. Nice balance for ”island porter”.

Paahteinen, kevyen kahvinen ja karamellimaltainen. Matala happoinen ja helposti juotava.
