I was really excited to try this because we don’t see many mild’s on the south coast and I do like a dark mild. Another new brewery in Lenton Lane. This is executed very well, I could have had 3 or 4 of these. Unbelievably smooth and silky. The mouthfeel is full and full-bodied. There’s notes of dark chocolate, waves of milk chocolate and a deft hint of smoke that elevates this beer significantly. Mild’s aren’t normally something I’d associate with depth of character as they’re normally quite one-dimensional, but this has been done so well with layers of flavour. Top pint!
