Lovely smooth mouthfeel and citrus fruits greet the palate. A certain amount of acidity from the pith and a great long finish. A delightful pale ale from one of the UKs best brewers and my most often drunk brewer! Another success.

A simple pale, seemingly only brewed with citra by our UK kings Cloudwater, not sure what makes this seasonal and Christmasy but there you go. Pale yellow coloured and mostly hazy with some transparency and minimal head. Light and fresh on the nose with notes of orange piff, grapefruit, peach, like and pine. Nice mouthfeel, light but fluffy with a short clean finish. It's dominated by orange piff and the Citra is not saturated as it's a pale ale, so it's not blowing me away with flavour, but within the context of a pale ale is juicy and nice. Not too dissimilar to cordial with its watered down nature, but that isn't to put this brew down. The most you drink and the more it breathes the more fruits from the nose you can taste on the tongue, it opens up slightly and provides hints of depth of what a huge Citra brew can do. It's one you can gulp and enjoy easily via the lightness and clean finish. Thankfully the pine is a gentle influence with citrus fruit being the main star of the show. You're not going to fall in love with this brew but it's undoubtedly decent from the dependable Cloudwater.
