Nachtrag von gestern Northern Monk Chocolate Fudge Brownie. Olfaktorisch ist der 8,4%er eine absolute Toffeebombe. Im Geschmack übernehmen dann Vanille und Schokoladendessersauce. Der Toffee steht jetzt eher hinten an und bleibt dezemt. Das Ganze ist minimal säuerlich und wirkt relativ leichtfüssig zu Beginn, wird aber etwas sperriger hinten raus. Ein gutes Bier zum Teilen. Einzig die Kohlensäure ist mir einen Tick zu viel geraten. Wieder einmal ein schönes Dessert.

Musta olut ruskehtavalla vaahdolla. Maitosuklainen tuoksu, taustalla hieman mallasta. Pehmeä ja yllättävän kevyt alku. Makea ja maitosuklainen pohja, seassa sokerista fudgea. Pinnalla ja jälkimaussa aika vahvasti paahdetta, joka kuivattelee kitalakea. Hieman paahteisuus pääsee yllättäänkin, kun olettaisi näiden menevän makeus ja suklaa edellä. Ihan kiva kokonaisuus, mutta ei ihan säväytä huippupisteille asti.

Happy International Stout Day!! Decedent, rich and sweet. Full bodied and big flavour to boot. Thankfully not cloying and definitely on the nicer side, for a pastry stout. Some just can’t stand. Chocolate and caramel are the big flavours here. Slight astringency and a metallic finish, must be from the roast malts. Velvety smooth…
