Lawn Dart
6.7% India Pale Ale
The F-16 fighter jet is known as the "Lawn Dart" for its tendency to plunge back to ground when the single engine flames out. We decided to brew proper West Coast IPA with traditional West Coast hops. No gimmicks, just good beer. It's up to you to decide if this IPA is a crash and burn Lawn Dart or something else. Cheers! Hops: Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Simcoe

Transparent, deep amber beer with lively carbonation sets a creamy head flying at above one finger. Although the retention is not particularly long-lived, the lace ring adorns the sides of the surface much longer. Resin is in the air. No doubt. Dried apricot, grapefruit peel and pine complete the experience. Faint toffee within the malty segment. Surfing on the West Coast, indeed. Here we go. The rocket shoots in the direction of the West Coast. Absolutely. I pick a good load of resin, pine needle, grapefruit peel, apricot, dried as well, and a reasonable injection of malt. Predictable and classical. The body is light-medium to medium. The end is, first and foremost, resinous and grapefruity, but the other gustatory parameters don't disappear either. It was the second of December and the weather was fine; Ed brought the hotdogs, the croquet set was mine; but the red ball was missing and three mallets were bent; Ed suggested lawn darts and that was the best. What surprises me with the mouthfeel is the softness and smoothness. As if the IBUs find their match. It's certainly also resinous, piney, crisp and pithy as well as dry and drying. Very balanced and gluggable. Straight to the point in terms of the style qualifications. A nice classical juicy brew with five hop varieties that play frictionlessly together.

Hedelmäisen tuoksuinen west coast. Aika reippaasti katkeroa alusta loppuun. Hedelmäisyyttäkin on mukana ihan mukavasti.

Maukas, rouheasti humaloitu west coast. Vähän sellaisia Fuller's ESB viboja tulee.
