Genuinely impressed with this beer and all the other Valmiermuiža beers I’ve had of late. They came on the scene and were a breath of fresh air around 15 years ago amongst the macro shite, they kind of stagnated for a bit, then they seem to have come out of their shell and remembered their roots recently. Their Kokmuiža series are pretty decent and this too is solid. For someone entering the smoked lager sphere this is your entry beer. Schlenkerla can wait, and so it should… this beer will let you in gently without giving you the smoke and intense burnt bacon overload that most Smoked lagers give off. Do this, then progress to the classics, there’s my words of wisdom 👍

Ich bin bei Rauchbier jedesmal vom antrunk begeistert, quäle mich aber zum Schluss der Flasche. Das war diesmal nicht der Fall, antrunk super, die Raucharomen sind gut ausbalanciert
