Time for revanche! 💪🏻 Last time our set of two Sahtis was catastrophic, hope this would prove better. Not just better than catastrophic but even attractive. The Sahti shows a familiar raisin brown face. Foggy, almost turbid. A few bubbles emerge on the top despite there's basically no carbonation. Medium-sweet biscuit malt, banana and sweet dough hit my nose first. Apricot and raisin follow discreetly. A twist of clove is relatively straightforward to detect. Yess! On the right track we are! 👍🏻 Sweet dough, like bun, and biscuit malt can indeed be identified also on the tongue. Ample banana accompanies the cocktail. The fruity components include raisin, apricot and a hint of date. Not sure if there's a truly distant smoky wisp among the elements, as well, or is it just my imagination? Anyway, clove tries to hide behind the veil. The body is medium-light to medium. Clearly the weak point of this brew. I forgive myself. The finish follows exactly the same route as upfront. Lingers beautifully long in the back of the mouth. The mouthfeel is medium at best, lip-glueing, soft, smooth and dangerously quaffable. Traditional for sure! 🤎🤎 Not the best we've brewed but still fairly successful after having a couple of contaminated disasters before.
