Partly hazy, tree sap amber coloured and a lively brew here. Its a low ABV Berliner that should be partly sour and rather refreshing.
Ginger leads the charge on the nose followed by a soft lemon that is tea like, that is to say not sharp or sweet like a soft drink, gentle lemongrass presumably.
First sip is nicely sour for a Berliner Weiss with a gentle middle and a warming ginger finish. It is very watery though, if it weren't for the ginger ending then I'd say it's akin flavoured fizzy water. It is nice and refreshing as I expected and would go down gloriously on a hot day but the carbonation and ginger may prevent you from downing it too quick.
There's an obvious lack of body being such a Berliner and a low ABV version at that. Wheatyness finally makes a showing by merging with the ginger making the finish dry. In fact, like dank brews, the wheat accumulates with each additional sip futher helping it not be a soft drink.
It's a mild, light and gentle brew that is quite elegant, which has its own appeal but it's obviously not enough there to blow you away like a proper sour or a juicy NEIPA.
